The Methane Mitigation Process requires Methane testing to abide by the LADBS Methane Code.

 

It’s an environmental engineering process requiring certification by the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS)

If a new construction project is located within a Methane Zone, the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS Methane Soil Test) will require a Methane Test. Based on the Methane Test results, the property will be classified as Methane Levels 1 through 5. Each Methane Level has corresponding Mitigation requirements. The LADBS Methane Code mandates an implementation in the methane mitigation design and methane mitigation construction.
